The Effect of Feed processing on Vitamins & Proteins

Steam pelleting is gently steaming then agglomerating feeds by compacting and forcing it through a die opening by a mechanical process. Pelleting results in marked improvement in nutritional value of feed for horses and ponies. The highly controlled steaming and pelleting process maintains important vitamins and proteins which are lost in the extrusion process.

Feeding Requirements:

Feeding rates will vary according to workload, body weight, temperature, climate, pasture and roughage quality. Horses may be fed totally on these pellets as long as there is some form of grazing available. If there is no grazing, add equal quantities of chaff by weight.
